Yemen’s Currency Gap Highlights Regional Financial Risks

On 5 November, Yemen Economic Tracking Initiative data showed the US dollar trading at approximately YER533 in Sana’a’s old-banknote market and YER1,597 in Aden’s new-banknote market. The latest displayed food-basket figures were YER43,300 in Sana’a and YER129,866 in Aden, based on 22 September data rather than a new November price survey. The currency gap creates demand for financial-risk analysis, regional pricing strategies and business planning. HPC can support financial modelling, currency-risk assessments and market-entry research.
