Ghana’s $270 Million Poultry Programme Creates Opportunities for Sustainable Agribusiness
On 22 October, Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy programme and UK agrifood investor Agrium Capital signed an agreement advancing a US$270 million poultry transformation programme intended to strengthen local production and reduce dependence on imported chicken. The programme could support more efficient agricultural supply chains and local production, with a first phase targeting 20,000 tonnes of processed broiler products annually; the announced investment is a programme value, not a confirmed sustainability-services contract, and HPC can support supply-chain data, resource monitoring and environmental reporting.
